Our Sailing Adventure 2010

Stephen and I took off to Washington, NC early (5:45am) on Friday morning. There was a little grumbling from him about being up so early, but it was just another day for me. We headed off leaving behind 4 peacefully sleeping girls and my sister Angie.

We spent most of first day in the classroom. While very informative and overwhelming, we were anxious to get on the boat!! After an evening of tying knots and recreational beverages we set off on the boat Saturday morning. We were on the boat with our instructor and a classmate, putting our classroom smarts to use. Later that afternoon , we took our test and looked forward to Sunday, a day of sailing.

We spent Sunday morning recovering a "man overboard" and other basics of sailing. Sunday afternoon Stephen and I took a 22 ft. sailboat out by ourselves!!!

WOW, I could not believe that

#1 the instructor would let us take this "big" boat out without him and

#2 we could actually sail this vessel.

We did and it was so much fun!! We had a few "exciting moments" for sure but good learning experiences. Hope you enjoy a few photos.
